BWO obtained a $400,000 workers compensation settlement. Our client suffered a back injury at work and had surgery. He was off work for several months and then returned to work and worked for about a year when he had another back injury. He was unable to get back to work after the second injury. The employer had the opportunity to settle the case after the first injury when he returned to work. The employer refused to be reasonable, so we declined to settle and began moving the case toward trial. During that time, the client had the second injury which left him unable to work. We pursed a permanent total disability claim for the client and were able to recover a much larger settlement.
